Ogun plans security meeting over alleged Army, herdsmen collusion

The Ogun State government says it will call a council meeting to discuss security challenges over clashes between farmers and herders in some parts of the state.

The government said the security meeting would address the alleged military connivance with herdsmen who allegedly attacked the people of Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Communications, Remmy Hazzan stated. It was gathered that some traditional rulers in Yewa North LGA wrote a petition against some army officers for allegedly conniving with herdsmen to attack them.

While reacting to the allegation, Hazzan said the clashes between farmers and herders had become a major issue for deliberation by the government.

He said, “already, talks are going on with Amotekun commander, viz a viz the recruitment that is being handled with the various affected agencies.

“I expect that soonest, a security council meeting would be called and this issue would be immediately dealt with so that those who have questions to answer, would be called and brought to book.
