Omotola Jalade Opens Up About Surgery Scars and Self-Confidence
Renowned Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has shared her journey of self-acceptance following a gallbladder removal surgery that left her with scars.
In a heartfelt post on her Instagram page, the veteran actress reflected on how the surgery affected her once-flawless tummy. Despite this, she affirmed that her confidence remains unshaken.
“My tummy is no longer perfect,” she admitted while sharing a video. “Late last year, I had emergency surgery. My tummy was one of the best parts of my body, but it is not so perfect now.”
Omotola, who revealed in November 2024 that she battled a life-threatening illness, recounted a moment during a recent photoshoot when she instinctively grabbed her top and heard a little voice questioning if there was anything left to show.
She, however, dismissed any doubts, stating, “Not me! What will shake my confidence has not been created. I smiled and danced. I’m alive, it’s just scars. Some people’s scars are physical, while some are emotional.”
The actress’s message resonated with many of her fans, as she reminded them that true beauty and strength lie in embracing one’s journey, regardless of the challenges faced.
