Owo Community Attacked Again by Gunmen

Some unknown gunmen attacked Owo community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State on evening of Wednesday, 27th July, 2022. This came seven weeks after some suspected terrorists attacked St. Francis Catholic Church in the community, killing about 40 worshippers and injuring many.

A source in the community said the hoodlums opened fire at Folahami Junction, where a construction company called Craneburg Construction Company was located, and opened fire on everybody at sight. Some said some explosives devices were also used during the attack.

However, the casualty figure has not been ascertained as at the time of filing this report but many people were said to be injured in the attack.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command , Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the incident but said some people were injured . She also said it could not be confirmed yet if the attackers are terrorists or mere bandits.
