Paul Okoye Reveals Humorous Approach to Dealing with Online Trolls

Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, recently shared a humorous take on how to handle online trolls and haters. The former P-Square member took to his Instagram story on September 26, 2024, to reveal his strategy for dealing with negativity, leaving his followers amused by his lighthearted approach.

In his post, Rudeboy wrote, “Sometimes be nice to these trolls … listen to them, they will tell you their frustrations and their problems and why they are just angry with you for nothing, then ask them to send their account details, give them hope and when they send it… Insult their papa!! W… and block them.” His playful response was filled with humor, showcasing his method for addressing online hostility.

Rudeboy’s post quickly sparked a variety of reactions from Instagram users. Many found his approach relatable and funny, with one user commenting, “He’s very correct 😂😂 me if get chance I dey insult any body wey yab me oh. No body has monopoly to trolling, na so I finish one last week he begin do emotional blackmail saying why I am insulting my followers but na him first attack me oh 😂. If you are frustrated channel ya frustration to the right source.” This response resonated with others who agreed that trolling should not go unanswered.

However, not everyone was on board with Rudeboy’s method. Some Instagram users criticized his approach, believing it to be immature. One user remarked, “Since he got married to a Gen Z, he’s been so loud,” while another added, “lol I was expecting wisdom but I do mistake.” These comments highlighted a divide among fans, with some disagreeing with Rudeboy’s playful attitude toward handling trolls.

A more critical user advised Rudeboy to show love instead, commenting, “Everybody get I’m time. Show love unconditionally. Don’t behave like the devil because God blessed you. That your money is God’s extended hand to you for your outreach. You can be poor like 321.” This perspective offered a more compassionate approach to dealing with online negativity, contrasting Rudeboy’s humorous stance.

Interestingly, Rudeboy’s playful take on trolls contrasts with fellow Nigerian singer Chike’s recent approach. Chike made headlines for sending ₦1 million to a Twitter troll who accused him of gaining fame through the late singer Mohbad. Rather than engaging in a back-and-forth, Chike silenced the troll with money, a move that worked in his favor.

While Rudeboy’s method may not involve sending money, it clearly shows that he is not “about that life” of staying silent. His humorous approach reflects his ability to handle online criticism in his own unique way, even if it doesn’t align with everyone’s expectations. Ultimately, his post adds to the ongoing conversation about how celebrities manage social media trolls and the varying ways they choose to respond.
