‘Peru’ Song Is My True-Life Story —Fireboy

Nigerian singer Ademola Adefolahan, profoundly called Fireboy DML, has created an international brand for himself through the release of his applauded remix of ‘Peru’, which featured British singer Ed Sheeran.

The talented 25-year-old musician had shut down the continent of Africa with his past releases like ‘Jealous’, ‘Vibration’, ‘Need You’, ‘Eli’, just to mention of a few of his hit songs. This made his growth in the continent’s music industry rapid, and in a short while, he became one of the most-sought after musicians.

With the release of ‘Peru’, his fan base sky-rocketed across all social media platforms even more because of his depth and thoughtfulness in the song. This posed a sacrosanct question of where he got the inspiration for the music.

Fireboy has now disclosed how the song was made in an interview with Deezer. The talented vocalist stated that although he was tipsy when the track was recorded; the song is his true-life story.

Narrating the process of the song recorded in San Francisco, California, he said; “It was my first time in the United States and I was supposed to go and see my associates at the empire and just vibe, pay a courtesy visit to Shizzi who produced the song in his studio,” he said.

“At the studio that night, I was tipsy, and I just got in the booth. He played the beat. I was like, Um, that’s a vibe. In between 30 to 35 minutes, I was literally just singing my story. It’s just a young boy that found himself in a new place and is willing to just try out new stuff.”

Fireboy reiterated that Ed Sheeran loved the song when he heard it. “Ed Sheeran heard the song and loved it. He was so excited about the whole process; the whole vibe of making the song.”

“He asked for the lyrics, what every word meant and all of that. In 30 minutes, he was done with his own verse too,” the YBNL singer added.
