Plateau APC Spokesman Killed by Gunmen at Relaxation Spot

The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the tragic murder of Sylvanus Namang, the State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), by gunmen at a relaxation spot in Pankshin.

According to Alfred Alabo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Namang was shot dead by suspected kidnappers who invaded the relaxation center along the Pankshin-Jos road. The incident occurred on Sunday around 8 p.m.

Upon receiving the information, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Hassan Yabanet, directed the Area Commander and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Pankshin to arrest the suspects and rescue the victim. Police officers engaged the hoodlums in a gun battle, foiling the kidnap attempt and rescuing the victim, who was rushed to the General Hospital, Pankshin, for treatment. Unfortunately, Namang was later confirmed dead at the hospital.

While condoling with the family of the deceased, Commissioner Yabanet assured residents of the command’s commitment to securing their lives and property at all times.
