Police Kill Wanted Notorious Sea Pirate John Togo

In a significant breakthrough, the Rivers State Police Command has announced the elimination of John Togo, a notorious pirate responsible for terrorizing the waterways of Bonny, Okirika, and Port Harcourt.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, revealed during a press briefing in Port Harcourt that Togo, affiliated with the Iceland cult group, was involved in a range of criminal activities including armed robbery, arms trafficking, sea piracy, and kidnapping.

Togo, who had been on the police’s wanted list, was implicated in the ambush and killing of four security personnel in Degema Local Government Area on November 4, 2023. He targeted commercial boats, posing a significant threat to drivers and passengers.

Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives from the C41 intelligence unit and Borokiri Police Division located Togo’s hideout and engaged him in a gunfight, resulting in his demise.

In a separate operation, the police successfully rescued three victims abducted from their residence in Ikwerre Local Government Area. Blessing Egbuna, Sonia, and Chinaza were saved after officers intercepted the kidnappers and engaged them in a shootout, forcing them to abandon their captives and flee.
