Portable Accuses Zlatan of Betraying Mohbad and Defends His Own Loyalty

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has revealed more details about his rift with fellow artist Zlatan Ibile. In an interview on the EchoRoom podcast, Portable criticized Zlatan’s actions toward the late Mohbad, accusing him of being a lousy friend to both Mohbad and himself.

Portable’s claims are rooted in an incident from 2024, when he accused Zlatan of causing a strain between him and Nigerian superstar Davido. Portable alleged that Zlatan advised Davido to be cautious around him, contributing to their falling out. However, his latest statements focus on his issue with Zlatan’s behavior toward Mohbad, who tragically passed away in 2024.

According to Portable, Zlatan’s failure to speak out against the attack on Mohbad by Sam Larry during a music location shoot is a sign of his bad friendship. Portable noted that while Zlatan posted a video of the attack, he did not take a stand against it or intervene. Portable expressed frustration over what he believes was a deceptive environment surrounding Mohbad, claiming that many people took advantage of him before his untimely death.

In his own words, Portable stated, “He is a bad friend. He was a bad friend to Mohbad and he was a bad friend to me. That is Zlatan. May God rest Mohbad’s soul, he was a good singer; they deceived him before they killed him and they cannot do that to me.”

Portable further clarified that while he did not directly blame Zlatan for deceiving Mohbad, he believed that Zlatan’s actions, or lack thereof, were unforgivable. “Why did he post where Sam Larry went to attack Mohbad, but it was later found out that he was present? Why did he not stand against them?” he asked, highlighting his disappointment with Zlatan’s response to the situation.

The ongoing drama between Portable and Zlatan adds to the growing controversy in the Nigerian music scene, with both artists gaining attention for their public feuds and the tragic loss of Mohbad, who had a significant impact on the industry.
