Prince Harry and Prince William Reunite at Uncle’s Memorial Service

Prince Harry and Prince William recently attended a memorial service for their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, who was married to their mother Princess Diana’s sister, Lady Jane Spencer, for over 40 years. The service was held at St Mary’s Church in Snettisham, near the royal Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. This marked a rare reunion for the brothers, who have been publicly distant due to ongoing tensions within the royal family.

Prince Harry traveled from his home in the United States to join Prince William for the service, showing their shared commitment to honoring their uncle’s memory. A source at the event confirmed to the BBC that both brothers were present at the ceremony. Despite the occasion being a family event, it was reported that Harry and William “kept their distance” and were not seen speaking to each other during the service, reflecting their current strained relationship.

A church warden, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed the significance of having both princes attend the memorial. “It was wonderful that both princes were able to attend their uncle’s memorial service yesterday at St Mary’s Church,” they said. “The service was a lovely family occasion celebrating the life of such a special man. Many friends and members of the St Mary’s Church family were also in attendance.”

Lord Robert Fellowes, a respected figure in royal circles, passed away recently, though the cause of death has not been disclosed. His long marriage to Lady Jane Spencer brought him close to the royal family, and he was well-regarded for his contributions to their lives and work.

This service marked the first time Harry and William have been seen together in the UK since 2023. Prince Harry’s previous visits to the UK were for personal reasons, including meetings with his father, King Charles, and his involvement in the Invictus Games, an international sports event he founded for wounded and ill service members.

Kensington Palace has not released a statement regarding the memorial service, and the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has not commented either. The public remains hopeful that such family occasions might serve as an opportunity for reconciliation between the brothers.
