RMD, Toyin Abraham, Peller and Others Honoured at 2025 Silverbird Awards
Nollywood icons Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) and Toyin Abraham, along with music producer Don Jazzy and popular TikToker Habeeb Hazmat, also known as Peller, were among the recipients of the prestigious 2025 Silverbird Awards.
The annual event, held at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, recognized outstanding contributions in entertainment, politics, and other sectors. Don Jazzy received the Extraordinary Achievement Award, while RMD was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Toyin Abraham and actor Chidi Mokeme were awarded the Trailblazer Awards, acknowledging their impact on Nollywood. Social media sensation Peller was named Influencer of the Year.
In the political category, Governor Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State was named Silverbird Man of the Year. Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and Peter Mbah of Enugu received the Governors of the Year Award, while the Minister of the Year Award went to Dr. David Umahi, Minister of Works.
Since its inception in 2006, the Silverbird Awards have celebrated individuals excelling in business, politics, and entertainment. Past winners include P-Square, Olu Jacobs, Aliko Dangote, Akinwumi Adesina, and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
