Ronaldo De Lima Buys Brazilian Club He Played For Before Going to Europe

Former Brazilian forward and FIFA World Best Player, Ronaldo Nazario is the new owner of Cruzeiro, the team where he rose to fame and allowed him to move to Europe.

Also owner of Spanish side Real Valladolid, Ronaldo confirmed the agreement alongside the president of the Brazilian team, Sergio Santos Rodrigues.

The deal was signed on Saturday in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Ronaldo’s aim is to take Cruzeiro back to the top flight of Brazilian football, having been relegated in 2019.

“I say that I have a lot to contribute, we have a lot of work ahead and ambition to make something big out of Cruzeiro,” the former striker said, speaking live on Instagram about the deal.

Cruzeiro become the second team owned by Ronaldo alongside Real Valladolid, who play in LaLiga Smartbank following relegation from LaLiga Santander in 2020/21.
