Security Guard Commits Suicide in Kano Over Ex-Wife’s Remarriage

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the tragic suicide of Nurudeen Shehu, a 37-year-old security guard at Prestige International College, Kano. According to reports, Shehu was found hanging in one of the college’s classrooms.

State Police Commissioner Usaini Gumel disclosed that the incident took place on January 28 at approximately 10:30 am when Abdullahi Abdulsalam of Rijiyar Zaki reported discovering Shehu’s lifeless body in the classroom. Police from the Gwale Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), intervened, cut the rope, and rushed Shehu’s body to Murtala Muhammed General Hospital. A doctor on duty confirmed his death before releasing the remains to the deceased’s family for burial.

It was revealed that Shehu’s decision to take his own life was influenced by the news of his ex-wife’s remarriage to another man. The police assured the public of a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Shehu’s tragic death.
