Seun Kuti Says He’ll Exit Heaven if He Sees Any Nigerian Politician

In a candid Instagram live session on January 30, 2025, Grammy-nominated Afrobeat artist Seun Kuti shared his strong views about Nigerian politicians. He boldly stated that he would leave heaven if he sees any Nigerian politician there. Kuti, known for his outspokenness, expressed his disbelief over the idea that these politicians, despite being widely regarded as corrupt, still aspire to enter heaven.

Kuti pointed out the irony, especially with figures like Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who is also a pastor, among the politicians aiming for a spot in heaven. He questioned how such individuals could hope for a place in the afterlife, given the state of corruption in Nigeria.

The artist’s comments resonate with his ongoing criticism of the country’s leadership, suggesting that if these politicians are allowed into heaven, it would imply corruption even in the afterlife. “If I died and the Christian and Muslim fantasy heaven happens to be true, and I see one single Nigerian politician there, I will go outside,” Kuti said, humorously adding that it would indicate corruption had extended into heaven itself.
