Colombian singer Shakira has openly shared her profound affection for Afrobeats and her admiration for Nigerian superstar Burna Boy, as well as emerging South African talent Tyla. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the iconic ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ artist expressed her deep appreciation for African music, portraying her musical taste as diverse, sincere, and deeply rooted.

“I love anything Afrobeats. I like Tyla, I like Burna Boy, anything Afrobeats. But I have a special love for Burna,” Shakira passionately articulated during the interview.

Shakira’s fondness for African music is longstanding, demonstrated by her notable inclusion of the Cameroonian song ‘Zangaléwa’ by Golden Sounds in her official 2010 FIFA World Cup anthem ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’.
