Simy Nwankwo joins Italian Club side FC Parma on Loan Deal

Super Eagles forward Simy Nwankwo has joined Serie B Side FC Parma on Monday.

The striker signed a six month loan deal with the Serie B side, after canceling his initial contract with struggling Serie A side Salernitana.

Simy signed for Salernitana on a season long loan from Crotone last August, but things didn’t go according to plans as he recorded just a goal and assist in 19 appearances this season.

Parma, however, have the option to make the loan deal permanent at the end of the season.

The Italian club announced the transfer deadline signing on their social media pages and they would be banking on his experience as they hope to gain promotion to the Serie A.

Simy is not new to the Serie B, he netted 20 league goals in the 2019/2020 Serie B season, which helped Crotone gain promotion to the top-flight.

He’s Africa’s all time top scorer in an Italian professional league — with 66 goals (30 in Serie A, 34 in Serie B and 2 in Italian Cup).
