Singer Orezi Reveals A Woman Once Gifted Him ₦30 Million Just Because She Liked Him
Nigerian singer Orezi has shared a surprising story about receiving a generous ₦30 million gift from a woman who simply liked him.
In a recent interview on The Echoroom, the Rihanna crooner revealed that he met the woman in Abuja, and despite not being in a formal relationship, she sent him the money without hesitation.
“The highest amount I’ve received from a woman? I don’t want to mention it, but okay—it was ₦30 million. This happened in Abuja. I wasn’t married to her or anything; she just liked me,” Orezi recounted.
The singer admitted that the gesture left him stunned, as men are usually expected to give such lavish gifts. He emphasized that back in 2016, ₦30 million was a huge sum, making the experience even more shocking.
“If you like a woman, won’t you give her money? We weren’t dating, but we had something going. It’s not like I needed money—I have money—but she just gave it to me. We had fun at a club, and this pretty Hausa woman gave me the money. The next day, before I traveled to Lagos, she asked for my account number and sent it.”
Orezi also pointed out that such experiences are common in the entertainment industry, where celebrities often enjoy unique privileges.
“A lot of artistes experience things like this—it’s normal. Just like pretty women benefit from being attractive, men in the industry enjoy privileges too. I even had a friend in university whose school fees and provisions were handled by a woman. People don’t talk about it much, but women do a lot for men.”
