Spyro Slams Billionaires for Dodging Payments and Demanding Freebies
Nigerian singer Spyro has called out billionaires and wealthy individuals, accusing them of being the biggest culprits when it comes to refusing to pay for professional services. In a fiery Instagram story, he expressed disappointment over how often rich clients expect creative work for free, despite their ability to pay.
Spyro didn’t hold back as he criticized what he described as a common pattern among the wealthy — asking for freebies from creatives and professionals who’ve worked hard to build their brands. He insisted that the same people who flaunt wealth and luxury often refuse to pay fair rates for services they request.
“I’m not poor,” Spyro declared, adding that he deserves respect for the value he brings to the table. He said he’s worked tirelessly to reach his current status and won’t tolerate being undervalued by anyone, regardless of their status or wealth.
He went further to accuse billionaires of hypocrisy, pointing out how they spend huge amounts of money on pleasures and parties but suddenly become reluctant when it comes to paying for quality work. “They’ll blow hundreds of millions on women,” he said, “but act like it’s a problem to pay for genuine value.”
His bold statement has sparked online discussions, with many creatives and fans agreeing that wealthy clients often take advantage of others in the name of status. Some social media users praised Spyro for standing up for himself and drawing attention to a recurring issue in the entertainment and creative industry.
The singer’s comments have shone a spotlight on the need to respect the work of artists, musicians, and professionals—no matter who the client is. Many believe that payment for services should be standard, not based on someone’s fame or net worth.
