Nollywood actress and filmmaker Stephanie Okereke Linus has made history as the first Black recipient of the prestigious Lennox K. Black Prize for Excellence in Medicine. Recognized for her impactful contributions to women’s health and rights, Stephanie’s advocacy work and dedication to social activism have earned her this esteemed accolade from Thomas Jefferson University.
Stephanie’s commitment to empowering and healing women shines through her acclaimed film “Dry,” which sheds light on the devastating childbirth injury Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) affecting women in northern Nigeria. Through her foundation, Extended Hands, Stephanie provides crucial medical care to VVF sufferers and tirelessly advocates for change in societal perceptions and policies.
