Super Eagles Enforce Strict Camp Rules Ahead of Zimbabwe Clash

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has implemented strict measures in the team’s camp as Nigeria prepares for a crucial World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. With a must-win match ahead, the team is shutting out distractions to maintain full focus.

After their 2-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali, the Super Eagles climbed from fifth to fourth in Group C with six points, boosting their qualification hopes. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe, coming off a 2-2 draw against Benin Republic, has arrived in Uyo, ready to challenge Nigeria on home soil.

To maintain concentration, Super Eagles Media Officer Promise Efoghe confirmed that Coach Chelle has restricted access to the camp. “No visitors, no journalists are allowed, and Sunday’s training was closed. Monday’s session will be open for just 15 minutes after the official press conference,” he stated. Players will also have limited interaction with the media on match day.

Team captain William Troost-Ekong emphasized that the win against Rwanda was a key step in reviving their World Cup hopes. “We know there’s still a lot of work to do, but we have started our recovery in the right way. We won’t let this opportunity slip.”

Victor Osimhen, who scored both goals against Rwanda, echoed the team’s determination. “We are ready. Every match from now is a battle, and we will fight to win.”

A victory against Zimbabwe would take Nigeria to nine points, strengthening their chances of qualification, especially if Benin Republic and South Africa share points in their clash in Abidjan.
