Tekno Sets the Record Straight: “I Am Hale and Hearty”

Nigerian singer Tekno has addressed recent rumors regarding his health after reports circulated that he collapsed during a performance in South Africa. On August 20, 2024, Tekno took to Instagram to clarify the situation and assure his fans that he is in good health.

In his Instagram post, Tekno stated, “Hey guys, I’m hale and hearty and not currently in South Africa. I hope whoever that was in the video is doing well and ok. Thank you, guys. Love you.” His message came in response to the false reports that had spread on social media.

Fans quickly reacted to Tekno’s update, with many expressing their relief in the comments. One user wrote, “Thank God, I feel better now,” while others voiced their frustration over the spread of misinformation. Another commenter remarked, “You dey Equatorial Guinea 🇬🇶 dey chop the peaceful good life! Mad people dey one corner dey post shit.”

Earlier in the day, Nigerian artist Mr Eazi also debunked the false claims, stating that Tekno was actually in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, not South Africa. Mr Eazi’s post helped clarify the situation further, as X users confirmed that the person in the viral video was not Tekno but Kenyan rapper Prezzo, who had previously participated in Big Brother Africa.
