Tumeric powder for beauty: How to use it for face and skin

Turmeric is a root plant that has proven to be useful in many ways. Although it is native to South East Asia, It is being used in many parts of the world as a spice, dye, medicine, and many more.

Turmeric has antioxidants contents that help the skin to fight against free radical damage. It also contains a lot of other chemicals, vitamins, and nutrients that would be discussed as we go further.

1. It soothes burns: In a case where a part of your skin is burnt, you can apply turmeric powder to soothe the area. All you need to do is to get a pinch of turmeric powder and add two teaspoons full of milk and apply it to the area. Let the mixture dry up on the spot before you gently wash it off. Repeat this process a few times until you begin to feel relief.

2. It can be used to remove stretch marks: Most ladies after giving birth end up with stretch marks on their body which can be a source of concern for them. Well, a natural remedy for stretch marks is to mix turmeric powder with lime and saffron juice. Apply this mixture to the area where the stretch mark is. Do this every day until the stretch marks begin to disappear.

3. Delays wrinkles and other signs of aging on the skin: Due to its high level of curcuminoid pigments that help the body in synthesizing antioxidants, the turmeric plant can slow down the aging process. When applied constantly on the face, these antioxidants protect the skin from free radical damage. You can add a little bit of turmeric powder to your cream.

4. It smoothens dry and cracked skin: When you mix turmeric powder with a little bit of coconut oil, you will get a paste that will help soften dry and cracked skin, most especially on the heels. Put the paste on the affected area and let it stay there for few minutes before washing it off.

5. Cures acne: The turmeric powder is very effective against acne and skin redness. Its antibacterial properties help in destroying the bacteria responsible for acne and redness. All you need to do is to mix half a teaspoon of turmeric half a glass of liquid milk and 2 teaspoons full of sandalwood. Apply it on the face and leave it there for some minutes. Repeat this process 2 to 3 times a week to see results.
