UBEC Executive Secretary Applauds Kwara Governor’s Smart Education Achievements

The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) recently hosted a funfair at the Universal Model Smart School (UMSS) in Adeta, Ilorin, to showcase the impressive achievements of the school and celebrate its progress in integrating technology into education. The event featured an exhibition of technology, artistic works, and innovations by students, highlighting the school’s role in revolutionizing education in the state.

Prof Abdulhameed Boboyi, the Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), praised Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his commitment to advancing smart education in Kwara State. He noted that the governor’s leadership has made the state a pioneer in educational development, especially in the implementation of 21st-century learning models.

“Kwara has always been at the forefront of educational development in Nigeria,” Boboyi said, acknowledging the state’s proactive approach in addressing challenges facing the smart school project. “The collaboration between the community, teachers, parents, school managers, and government is impressive. Everyone is aligned in making smart education in Kwara a reality.”

He also emphasized how Kwara’s solution-driven approach ensures progress without waiting for external assistance. Boboyi added that this cooperative effort between all stakeholders sets Kwara apart from other states in the nation.

The Chairman of Kwara SUBEB, Prof Sheu Raheem Adaramaja, highlighted the significance of the Smart Fair in celebrating the school’s milestones and addressing challenges. He stressed the administration’s focus on bridging educational gaps through innovative and technology-driven learning tools.

The Universal Model Smart School in Kwara boasts several key features, including the introduction of digital learning tools, robotics labs, and smart learning hubs. These innovations have contributed to improved academic performance, enhanced teacher capacity, and better student outcomes. Moreover, the school’s integration of technology and its emphasis on community engagement ensure that education in Kwara is both modern and accessible.

Prof Galandachi, who also spoke at the event, praised the government’s commitment to the smart education initiative, noting the financial resources and efforts invested to make the program a success. He also acknowledged the role of the dedicated teachers who have played a significant part in integrating technology into their teaching methods.
