Unilever Nigeria Sets Industry Standard for Employee Well-being

Unilever Nigeria, the pioneering manufacturing company in the nation, reaffirms its dedication to employee well-being through progressive policies and facilities, leading the charge in fostering Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I).

According to Ola Ehinmoro, the Human Resources Director for Unilever West Africa, these policies aim to enhance productivity and work-life balance, addressing the diverse needs of the workforce.

Ehinmoro highlighted six core areas of focus: Maternal and Paternal Leave, Menstrual Leave, Lactation & Crèche Facilities, Hybrid Working Model, People with Special Abilities, and Engagement Initiatives. Special emphasis is placed on ensuring a comfortable workplace for female employees.

Unilever Nigeria goes beyond legal requirements, offering 16 weeks of maternity leave for expectant mothers and three weeks of paternity leave for fathers. Onsite crèche and lactation rooms support nursing mothers, while a one-day menstrual leave allows female employees to manage their well-being effectively.

The company’s hybrid working model promotes flexibility, with three days onsite and two days of Work From Home (WFH). Remote work allowances and state-of-the-art digital tools further facilitate collaboration and productivity.
