Unity bank rewards Corps members with N10m

Unity Bank Plc has announced that 30 members of the National Youth Service Corps have won cash prizes and business grants up to N10m from the entrepreneurship challenge.

the competition called Corpreneurship Challenge, rewards NYSC members with promising business plans submitted as plans of requirements for the grants.

A statement from Unity Bank said the winners emerged from the Batch B Orientation Course in Lagos, Ogun, Benin, Akwa Ibom, Kano, Sokoto, Enugu, Osun and Kwara states as well as Abuja.

It said the cash prizes included a N200,000 business grant for the third place winners; N300,000 business grant for the second place winners  and a prize of N500,000 for the overall winners.

The bank said it had invested over N80m in the initiative, which it said had produced 58 winners since it was launched in 2019 in partnership with the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development.

At the finale of the FCT NYSC camp, the Divisional Head, Retail, SME Banking and E-Business Directorate, Unity Bank, Mr. Olufunwa Akinmade, said the competition had proved to be a great tool for empowering fresh graduates in the country.

He said, “The Corpreneurship Challenge is a creative entrepreneurial development initiative by Unity Bank in conjunction with the National Youth Service Corps. It is aimed at driving job creation through entrepreneurship. With rising youth unemployment in the country, it is just common sense to consider the entrepreneurship alternative.
