Vacate EFCC office immediately, Tinubu orders DSS
President Bola Tinubu has directed the Department of State Security Service to immediately leave the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The directive is coming hours after DSS officials stormed the EFCC office located on Awolowo Road in the early hours of Tuesday, preventing officials of the anti-graft agency from accessing their workplace.
Although the service had earlier refuted the report as “not true,” spokesperson for the Service, Peter Afunanya confirmed told newsmen that the DSS indeed denied its operatives entry into their Lagos office.
Following the heightened tension between the two agencies, the president through his media officer, Tunde Rahman, issued a statement at the State House Presidential Villa on Tuesday evening instructing the DSS to evacuate the premises immediately.
The statement partly read, “The President gave the directive when reports that DSS officials stormed the EFCC office located on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos on Tuesday, preventing officials of the anti-graft agency from accessing their workplace, was brought to his attention.
“The President said if there were issues between the two important agencies of government, they would be resolved amicably
