Vector Reveals Family Connection to Music Legend Orlando Owoh
Nigerian rapper Olanrewaju Ogunmefun David, popularly known as Vector Tha Viper, has revealed that his mother is related to the legendary highlife musician Orlando Owoh.
Vector made this revelation while responding to a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) that encouraged people to share details about their family history. Joining the trend, the rapper simply stated, “My mum and Orlando Owoh are related.”
His statement sparked excitement among fans, with many encouraging him to explore the legacy of the late music icon. Some speculated on the ancestral connection, suggesting that Vector’s roots could be traced to Ondo State, where Orlando Owoh hailed from. Others pointed out that musical talent might run in his family.
Orlando Owoh was a renowned Nigerian highlife musician known for his unique sound and storytelling through music. He started as a drummer in 1958 and later formed his own band, Dr. Orlando Owoh and His Omimah Band, in 1960. Throughout his career, he established other groups, such as Young Kenneries and the African Kenneries International, releasing over 45 albums before his passing in 2008.
