Vegetables that can be made into smoothie
We get the urge to drink immediately after eating because the presence of liquid in the body helps in digestion. Aside from water, there are other natural drinks that we can take after a meal, and one of those is a vegetable smoothie.
Many people usually confuse vegetable smoothie for fruit smoothie, but the difference is clear. The former is a drink which is made from blending fresh vegetables, while the latter is made from fresh fruits.
Carrot.
This vegetable is grown mainly in Northern Nigeria, and you will agree with me that carrot is loved by everyone. It is also used in preparing salad. Carrot is rich in potassium, fiber and vitamins. Many people enjoy eating carrot like that, but little did they know that it can be made into a natural drink. Carrot smoothie is prepared by washing and removing the bark, the remains is now cut and blended.
Cucumber
Cucumber is known for its high water content, and this vegetable is mostly enjoyed with groundnuts in Nigeria. Cucumber is rich in magnesium and potassium, it is also known to reduce blood pressure. Cucumber smoothie is prepared by peeling the cucumbers and cutting into smaller pieces, which is now blended and served.
Beetroot.
This reddish onion-like vegetable is an excellent source of folate and vitamin C. Beetroot is also known to improve blood flow, but many people dislike this vegetable because of its color and taste, but little did they know that beetroot has wonderful health benefits.
Broccoli
Broccoli is mostly used in preparing salads, but one of the ways by which it can be enjoyed is by drinking. This green vegetable is packed with fiber and vitamins, it is also good for the heart, which makes it an excellent vegetable for aged people. Broccoli smoothie is made by washing and blending. Water should be added to make it drinkable.
Spinach.
Spinach is a leafy vegetable which has lots of medicinal values. It is used in treating stomach problems, and it can as well be made into a smoothie. You just need to wash and blend it, ensure to add water.
The smoothies which were mentioned above should not necessarily be taken after eating. You can as well take them as natural drinks.
