Victor Osimhen Faces Istanbul Court Over Alleged Assault on Journalist
Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is set to appear in an Istanbul court today, following his lawsuit against a Turkish journalist who accused him of assault.
According to sources, Osimhen officially filed the lawsuit on Monday, January 27. A close aide confirmed, “Osimhen is heading to court today. He has filed a lawsuit against a Turkish journalist who accused him of assault.”
The incident reportedly began last week when the journalist attempted to take pictures of Osimhen, despite the striker’s warnings against it. This led to a confrontation, with the journalist alleging that Osimhen became violent. However, the Nigerian footballer strongly denied the claims, labeling the journalist’s actions as invasive and unprofessional.
Osimhen expressed his disappointment, stating, “I was only trying to protect myself and my rights. I will not tolerate false accusations and will do everything possible to clear my name.”
The case has drawn significant attention, with Osimhen determined to defend his reputation against what he considers baseless allegations.
