“We’re not in a Battle” Iheanacho on Relationship with Leicester Strikers

Kelechi Iheanacho says there is no rivalry in Leicester City’s squad and insisted that every player is ready to help the club achieve success.

The Nigerian striker finished as Leicester City’s top scorer last season with 19 goals, but reports suggested his chance could belimited this season following the arrival of Zambia striker Patson Daka.

Iheanacho proved bookmarkers wrong again as he came off the bench to score the winning goal for Leicester City in the FA Community Shield clash with Manchester City on Saturday.

Speaking to Leicester City TV, Iheanacho explained that his squad is united and he believes every attackers will all contribute to the 2021/22 campaign.

“We’re not in a battle in our team,” he told LCTV.

“Everybody is important. We need everybody to get through this season. There are a lot of competitions, so we need everyone.

“Patson [Daka] will be important to the squad. Me as well. Vards (Jamie Vardy), Madders (James Maddison) – everyone is important in the squad. We are together as a team and as a family.

“I’ll keep working hard and at the end of the season, we’ll see what happens.” he said.

The Foxes will kikc off their Premier League with a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers next weekend.
