William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan Reunite to Mourn Queen Elizabeth II
The Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have come together to honor Queen Elizabeth II. Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Kate, and Duchess Meghan greeted mourners in person outside Windsor Castle today—an unexpected appearance following the monarch’s death last Thursday.
The royal couples—the princes in matching navy suits and ties, and their wives in elegant black dresses and stockings—in also visited the many tributes left by people outside the late monarch’s residence.
A Palace spokesperson said “The Prince of Wales invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join him and the Princess of Wales earlier.”
After about 40 minutes of exchanging hugs and sympathies with Britons outside the castle, the foursome headed back to Windsor Castle.
Earlier today, Prince William shared a touching tribute to his grandmother, in which he remembered the love and support the late monarch gave to his family.
“My grandmother famously said that grief was the price we pay for love. All of the sadness we will feel in the coming weeks will be testament to the love we felt for our extraordinary Queen. I will honour her memory by supporting my father, The King, in every way I can,” he said.
