Wizkid Breaks Record with Longest Gap Between No. 1 Songs in Nigeria

Nigerian music icon Wizkid has achieved a remarkable milestone by setting a new record for the longest gap between No. 1 songs on Nigeria’s TurnTable Top 100 chart. His latest hit, “MMS” featuring Asake from the album *Lungu Boy*, has ascended to the top spot, marking Wizkid’s second No. 1 single.

The record-breaking gap spans 3 years, 9 months, and 12 days since Wizkid’s last chart-topping track, “Ginger,” featuring Burna Boy. This surpasses the previous record of 1 year, 10 months, and 16 days held by Omah Lay.

Wizkid’s enduring influence in Nigerian mainstream music is shown by this achievement, highlighting his continuous prominence in the industry for over a decade. The Grammy-winning artist is also gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated sixth studio album, *Morayo*, named in honor of his late mother.

In addition to his chart-topping success, Wizkid has kept fans engaged with various projects, including the second installment of his *Soundman* EP released in December 2023. He has also made notable guest appearances on DJ Tunez’s “Apala Disco,” Shenseea’s “Work Me Out,” and now on Asake’s “MMS.”
