Wizkid Reignites Feud with Davido After Subtle Jab on Social Media

The long-standing rivalry between two of Nigeria’s biggest music stars, Wizkid and Davido, has sparked yet again. In a recent social media exchange, Wizkid appeared to take shots at Davido, just hours after Davido announced his first single of 2024. The new track was meant to coincide with Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day celebrations.

The online tension began when Davido’s associate, Kayode Yajaur, also known as Black Tycoone, seemingly taunted Wizkid on X, formerly known as Twitter. He urged Wizkid to release new music, stating, “Tell your Daddy to drop an album already.” Wizkid quickly responded with a comment that reignited the decade-long feud, saying, “P***y boys dropping mid again. Una don tire! Make una go rest small!!”

The remark led to a heated back-and-forth, with Davido’s associates defending him. One of them questioned Wizkid, accusing him of stirring up controversy for publicity, asking, “So if you no beef @davido, your song won’t sell?”

Wizkid dismissed the accusation, claiming he doesn’t need to “beef” with Davido to promote his music, calling Davido “wack” and “talentless.” Despite the exchange, Davido has remained silent and has not responded to the remarks.

This feud between Wizkid and Davido dates back to the early 2010s, during their rise in the Afrobeat music scene. Wizkid’s debut album, *Superstar*, was released in 2011, while Davido gained attention the same year with his hit track *Dami Duro*. Since then, their rivalry has continued, making headlines over the years.
