Yobe State University Considers Affiliation with Mai Idris Alooma Polytechnic for Academic Programs

In a move aimed at enhancing academic offerings and fostering collaboration, the Vice-Chancellor of Yobe State University, Prof. Mala Mohd Daura, led a delegation to Mai Idris Alooma Polytechnic, Geidam, to conduct a resource verification exercise for affiliated academic programs. The varsity’s Director of Information, Uwani Mamuda, revealed this in a statement released to the press in Damaturu.

The visit focused on assessing the suitability of the Polytechnic’s infrastructure and resources to support various academic programs, including Postgraduate Diploma courses in Education, Management, Public Administration, Local Government Administration, Health Economics, Public Policy, and Strategic Studies.

During the inspection, the Polytechnic’s management facilitated a comprehensive tour of the campus, allowing the visiting team to evaluate physical facilities and engage with academic and non-academic staff members to gauge institutional readiness.

Following the thorough assessment, the Vice-Chancellor, in a subsequent exit meeting, underscored the positive findings, noting the presence of requisite infrastructure, facilities, staff, and a well-equipped library conducive to supporting academic endeavors. He affirmed the commitment to communicate the outcomes of the visit to Mai Idris Alooma Polytechnic in a timely manner.
