Yoruba Youths Resist Arrest Of Sunday Igboho In Oyo

Attempts by a team of security agents to arrest a popular freedom fighter, Chief Sunday Adeyemo alias Igboho were futile yesterday as his numerous loyalists went wild daring anyone to arrest him. According to sources, Sunday Igboho was on his way to see the Afenifere leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo when the security agents swooped on him. The pan Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on Friday berated the foiled attempt to arrest the Yoruba freedom fighter. Afenifere’s National Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, described the move as overzealousness. The Yoruba leaders have advised the Federal Government not to stir the honet’s nest by arresting Igboho who they said have not committed any crime when compared with numerous unprovoked attacks by the herders.
