Yul Edochie Advocates Practical Approach to Marriage: “If It’s Not Working, Walk Away”

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has shared his perspective on handling unsuccessful marriages, advocating for a pragmatic approach to marital issues. In a recent interview, he emphasized that marriage should not be considered obligatory and encouraged couples facing irreconcilable differences to part ways amicably.

Edochie, who himself has faced controversy surrounding his marital decisions, including marrying his colleague Judy Austin while still married to his wife May Edochie, advised individuals to be open to the possibility of multiple marriages if necessary. He emphasized that marriage should not be viewed as a life-or-death commitment, but rather as a personal choice.

According to Edochie, “Marriage isn’t a decree. If it’s not working, walk away. Respectfully. No need for unnecessary pain. If you find someone else you want to marry, go ahead. And if it doesn’t work out again, move on. You can marry multiple times. Everyone’s happiness is different, and don’t let anyone dictate what’s best for you. Find what works for you. And if you’ve chosen not to marry in this lifetime, then don’t. Prioritize your happiness.”
