Yul Edochie on Psquare Reconciliation: “Sometimes, Peace Comes from Staying Apart”

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has weighed in on the ongoing public debate about the potential reconciliation between Nigerian music stars Paul and Peter Okoye, known as Psquare. Edochie expressed his reservations about the push for the twin brothers to reunite, suggesting that sometimes, true peace is found in maintaining distance rather than forcing reconciliation.

In a recent Instagram post, Yul Edochie addressed the calls for Psquare to mend their relationship, which has been strained over issues involving their elder brother and music executive, Jude Okoye. The actor’s comments reflect a broader perspective on personal relationships and the pursuit of peace.

Edochie shared his view that while it is encouraging to see the twins together, their happiness and well-being should take precedence over familial unity. He emphasized that in some cases, separating from certain people, even family members, can lead to a more peaceful and fulfilling life.

He said, “I see people say Rudeboy, go & make peace with your brother, Mr P, go & make peace with your brother, I just laugh. Many people still don’t understand what life is about. Sometimes, real peace comes from staying apart. Sometimes, even some family members have to be blocked to achieve peace.”

Yul further explained, “Sometimes, you just have to relate with people from a distance to have peace. Trying to be close to them can be detrimental. Life is short, especially for men. Small things can lead to significant stress. That’s why we have many windows everywhere. So, you have to be intentional about your life. And life is per head.”

He concluded by advocating for personal well-being over forced relationships, stating, “Block anybody that needs to be blocked so you can have peace. Don’t look back. Fight for yourself. Stay alive. It’s good to see Psquare together. But if they have to stay apart to be happy and alive for us, let them stay apart. We love them together. Being alive and happy is more important than being together.”

Edochie’s comments add a new layer to the conversation about family dynamics and personal happiness, suggesting that sometimes, the best path to peace involves setting boundaries and maintaining distance.
