Yul Edochie Turns to Traditional Religion, Abandons Ministry

Nollywood actor and self-proclaimed cleric, Yul Edochie, has made a bold statement declaring himself a “hardcore traditionalist,” surprising many with his shift in religious beliefs. This revelation comes after Edochie, who founded The Salvation Ministry online last year, now expresses a firm commitment to his ancestral religion.

In a recent Instagram post, the actor emphasized that he would never abandon the religion of his ancestors, hinting at his conversion to traditional practices. He criticized Africans for abandoning their original faiths out of fear of public opinion, calling it an “abomination.”

Edochie wrote, “Because of fear of what people will say, Africans are running away from their powerful religion, their originality. Abomination! I will never abandon the ways of my forefathers. It is built on truth, transparency, and fairness. I’m a hardcore traditionalist.”

In December, he also made waves by suggesting that many Nigerian pastors are destined to be native doctors but were swayed by Western influences and the movie industry’s portrayal of native doctors as “evil.”
